"Lamentations" is a celebration of life. Today, 15 January 2017, is my 30th birthday. I never anticipated that I would live this long, and thus, a recording was necessary to mark the occasion.
As with "Lifeblood," "Lamentations" gives new life to old recordings—in this case, "More Life"—generating MIDI notation from Melodyne analysis and treating that data in a way I hadn't done on previous releases.
In lamenting the end of my twenties self and all of his highest and lowest points in the days and weeks leading up to this day, I'm cautiously optimistic about what my thirties self will learn and experience and how this will influence my aural and visual work going forward.
I wouldn't have made it this far without the continued love and support of so many of you. Thank you for your life.
